Students entering first grade are building on the skills that they learned in kindergarten. This is a foundational year in their learning journey. Establishing procedures and rhythms early in the year will lead to students using their devices for learning.
Visuals: The camera on the iPad can be one of the most powerful tools that a student can possess. Being able to capture what they see allows them to share and reflect on a different level. Consider using the camera to allow students to post work onto Seesaw
Seesaw: Turning in work is great, but take it a step further by having students use metacognition as well as develop artifacts of learning. Students in first grade can do more annotating in Seesaw through the use of drawing tools, audio, as well as text.
