In second grade, students are growing in their abilities to read and write, allowing them to expand their curious minds even further. Now that students have had experience with some different tools in the classroom, you should be able to build upon some of the basics and take things a step further. New apps and projects will still need to be carefully explained, but students should begin seeing similarities in the way apps are set up, identifying things like saving, sharing, editing, etc.
Making visuals: Students should be comfortable with tools for organizing digital content like PicCollage. These types of activities can become more frequent as students develop independence, allowing students more time to express their knowledge and creativity.
Presentations: Take the skills that they have used in isolation, such as searching for images, creating visuals, typing text, etc. and go a step further. A tool like Book Creator can be an easy entry point for students to create multi-slide presentations that are media-rich.
Connecting: Students' understanding of the world is often limited at a young age. What is outside our school, city, state, and country? This can be a great time for students to connect with others and share experiences, growing their sense of community.
